IV (intravenous infusion) vitamin and mineral therapy involves the administration of vitamins and minerals via a vein in the arm or hand. These nutrients bypass the digestive tract where nutrients may not be properly absorbed or metabolized. Intravenous nutrition creates higher than normal blood levels of the antioxidants and nutrients that have been shown in research to be effective in treating disease and improving health. Intravenous solutions generally contain moderate doses of vitamin C (10-25 grams) along with various B vitamins, minerals and certain amino acids, depending on individual needs.
The vitamins and minerals replace nutritional deficiencies, improve the function of all our cells including immune system, protect cells from damage, aid in healing damaged tissues, and decrease inflammation. Intravenous forms of nutrients have been given to patients for many years because they can achieve higher serum concentrations that are not obtainable by oral ingestion. At higher concentrations, these naturally occurring nutrients can have a more direct pharmacological effect.
Why are IV vitamin and mineral infusions used?
The following conditions have been treated with intravenous vitamin and mineral infusions: infectious conditions such as hepatitis, herpes simplex (shingles), macular degeneration, asthma, chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus), cancer (as supportive treatment), and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and ulcerative colitis), congestive heart failure, diabetes, heavy metal toxicity, hypertension, etc.
Physicians have used intravenous vitamin and mineral treatment safely for many years. All components of each solution are compounds that are natural to the body and generally do not pose health risks. For your individual indications and health problems, we customize your treatment. Our protocols are based on research studies and the clinical experience of many leading authorities in the field of clinical nutrition. The number of treatments will vary with the condition being treated. Most patients will require at least 6-10 treatments. Depending on the response, some patients will then go on to maintenance treatments.
The following are some of the many other issues that may benefit from the use of IV treatment:
Glutathione Infusion (GSH)
Glutathione infusion supports brain tissue, prompts liver, kidney detoxification, and is also used to treat a variety of neurodegenerative disorders and medical conditions.
This infusion is used in hepatic failure, cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver leading to overall improvement in hepatic function. It is highly effective in normalizing liver function.
Proline, Arginine, Tyrosine (PAT)
This IV combination includes amino acids that have been shown to be beneficial with preventing uncontrolled cellular proliferation by inducing matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors, which cancer cells produce.
Phosphatidyl Choline (PTC)
Used to treat a very large variety of neurological disorders; this infusion supports brain tissue and prompts liver detoxification.
Oxidative Therapy (OXTX)
OXTX has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral properties and used to treat a variety of infections such as upper respiratory disease, flu, sinus infections, asthma, emphysema, and other related COPD diseases.
